10.20.06 Miguelito (of DCFlamenco)

Flamingo in Maryland. Man do I wish I could be there!!! Several other events
added and updated on the events page. I also heard
an excellent rumor that Estrella Morente is coming to NYC... Also, I've had
lots of people contact me recently on how to find a teacher. Please see my instruction
page for more info about this. To my knowledge, Elba Hevia y Vaca of Pasión
y Arte is the only one having regular workshops in the Philly area at this
time. Her website is not up-to-date with workshop and performance times at the
moment, but you can still contact her via the website for more information.
All of the instructors listed are teaching privately, however.

by copy of the CD at CDBaby.com and

I'm back!
7.2.06 I regret that I've been unable to update the website for the past
few months, but I'm back! I took time off to spend time with my family for the
birth of my daughter Marley Amada. I also had some computer troubles that have
been thankfully resolved. Here's a photo of Marley when she was only minutes
old.

Two great workshops opportunities for dancers
9.21.05 I'm so lame, I've had this info for a week and haven't had the
time to announce it. Last night and tonight was a workshop at Elba's studio
in Philly with "El Chupete" Antonio Jimenez. What a super opportunity
I missed. Argh! The second great workshop is scheduled for the end of October
with La Chiqui. More info on the events page.
Tapas, yes!
The latest gossip has me really excited... I am positively salivating at
the prospect of a new tapas restaurant opening in September in Olde City. I'm
witholding details til more is known, but could it be we might have a new tablao
in Philly?!?!?...
I've just added a new page of Photos
I've just added a page of My Favorite Photos
of the dancers, singers, guitarists and people I've photographed in the past
two years. Included are Antonia Arias, Rafael Campallo, La Choni, Miguelito,
Edwin Aparicio, Carmela Greco, Alfonso Cid, Antonio Hidalgo, Anna & Tito
Rubio, Hersjel Wehrens, Mariah del Chico, Liliana Ruiz, Eva Arriaga, Elba Hevia
Y Vaca, Pat D'Aprile and a few others.
I've finally completed the About page
Now that I've gotten most of the Feria pages done, I finally sat down and written
a little bit about my journey with flamenco on the About page. If you've
got time to read it, you've probably got too much time on your hands. Shouldn't
you be rehearsing or something???
Feria de Sevilla in Philadelphia 2005
The biggest flamenco event of the year in the Philadelphia area just came to
a close. The performances at the 2nd Annual Feria de Sevilla in Philadelphia
were a huge sucess. Area and international flamenco artists came together with
Raices Culturales to put forth exciting and accessible performances to the arts
lovers in the region. The weekend was full of the sights and sounds of flamenco
dance and music, Sevillanas, food and much more. Check out some of the
general Photos, Flamenco del Encuentro
Photos, and Edwin Aparicio performance Photos.
Stay tuned for more information on what's planned for next year's Feria!
New page Archive
I've just added a new page archive on the navigation
bar to the left. I will preserving out of date pages on past events and former
visiting artists in addition to a photo archive. I spend so many hours slaving
away creating pages and editing photos, I just can't condemn these pages to
cyber-oblivion!
Information for flamenco novices and students
My main purpose in creating this website is to make flamenco more accessible
to people who are curious about flamenco and don't know where to begin. I am
in the process of putting together more content pertaining to flamenco that
novices and students will find useful such as definitions and the history of
flamenco. I've also been talking to some of my flamenco friends about the potential
for adding audio compas aids to the website. This would take a lot of
time, so if you think it would be worth the trouble, please email
me with your opinion.
