Absolute Beginner Class (Special Workshop 6-8 weeks only)
Fridays from 6:00-7:30pm. (Check Monica’s Web site for class availablity)
This class will be for people who have never studied Flamenco before and for those who want to develop a good understanding for Flamenco technique, compas (rhythm) and structure.
If you do not own flamenco shoes, wear something comfortable with a sturdy heel that you can bend your foot in. I do not recommend high heels.
Advanced Beginner Level Flamenco
Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm
Learn the language, technique and the different rhythms of flamenco. We will focus on technique (posture, footwork and arms). We will be working with a guitarist to understand how to dance to the different rhythms and interpret the different letras (verses). Wear comfortable clothing. If you do not have flamenco shoes, wear shoes with a wooden heel that have plenty of support. I do not recommend high heels.
